J. Sterling Morton is honored by the U.S. 1932 Arbor Day stamp, in recognition of his establishment of that holiday. Arbor Day began in Morton's home state of Nebraska, and has subsequently grown into a world-wide tree planting movement. For more about Arbor Day, visit the Arbor Day Foundation website.
